Namaste Bonobos! This week’s theme is Yoga. Whether you’re into the fashion, the health benefits, or the social elements, yoga is an amazing tool to have on your belt in this journey we call life. From downward dog (Adho Mukha Svanasana) to plank (Kumbhakasana) to tree pose (Vrksasana) and more, yoga is great for the body, mind and spirit. Highlighting this week’s theme is Janelle Monáe. You may recognize this actress and model from the acclaimed 2016 films Hidden Figures and Moonlight, but she is also an American recording artist and record producer, with her own imprint Wondaland Arts Society.

In her song “Yoga” she takes a side-step from AfroFuturism–a theme seen in videos such as “Q.U.E.E.N.” and “Dance Apocalyptic”– with a back to basics focus on the physical body. Regular yoga can improve your sex life, so why there wasn’t already an anthem is beyond my comprehension. #GoBonobos for Yoga

With Monáe’s new album Dirty Computer appearing in select theaters before the new Marvel film Black Panther, you can be sure that you will be hearing and seeing more of this electrifying Electric Lady in the days, weeks and months to come.
