Great Read: “The Only Moral Abortion is My Abortion”

23 Sep , 2021

This is a great read that is extremely relevant to the current abortion ban in Texas. Posted on the Daily Kos, the author reposts an article from 2000. The original article was posted by Joyce Arthur in the Pro-Choice action network. A powerful piece, it highlights how women view their abortion as the only “moral” abortion, and the sobering statistics surrounding abortion. Unfortunately, not much has changed.

Don’t Go Under the RED HOOD: DC Refused an Oral Sex Scene Between Batman and Catwoman

15 Jun , 2021

“But if I do that… if I allow myself to go down into that place… I’ll never come back.”

When it comes to what heroes should and should not do, is there a specific guide? And who exactly gets to define what heroes do? Apparently, executives at DC have decided what it is that our most revered (and fictional) heroes should do. According to a recent interview in Variety, co-creators of the Harley Quinn animated series, Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacher, talked about the creative liberties of working with villains. However, when it came to the portrayal of the Dark Knight himself, DC bigwigs had more concerns.

“It’s incredibly gratifying and free to be using characters that are considered villains because you just have so much more leeway,” says Halpern. “A perfect example of that is in this third season of ‘Harley’ [when] we had a moment where Batman was going down on Catwoman. And DC was like, ‘You can’t do that. You absolutely cannot do that.’ They’re like, ‘Heroes don’t do that.’ So, we said, ‘Are you saying heroes are just selfish lovers?’ They were like, ‘No, it’s that we sell consumer toys for heroes. It’s hard to sell a toy if Batman is also going down on someone.’”

So it’s not OK for Batman to give Catwoman some head, but it’s perfectly OK for him to murder purple (as depicted in various comics, TV shows, and films). And do these people really want us to believe that sexy feline anti-hero Catwoman/Selena Kyle is going to be with a man that doesn’t eat pussy, least of all a caped crusader? Also, let us not forget that Batman/Bruce Wayne definitely gets laid. What Billionaire Playboy Genius Philanthropist wouldn’t? In the animated movie of The Killing Joke, Batman has sex with Batgirl. In Batman Returns, Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle have some steamy rendezvous, with masks- and without.

As expected, social media has run amuck with the news, challenging DC to be sex positive. As far as comic-inspired shows go, Harley Quinn is pushing the envelope. It’s a shame that “going under the Red Hood” is being censored in the name of toy sales. However, children shouldn’t be watching the Harley Quinn series anyway. And they shouldn’t have been watching Christopher Nolan’s Batman either, or The Killing Joke, and let us not forget the overt sexiness of Tim Burton’s Batman, as well the campy, lusty gaze of Joel Schumacher (bat nipples, anyone?).

Anyways, we’re hoping that DC gets its act together and shows heroes doing more “human” acts because how can you be a hero if you’re not a giver?

It’s 69 Day! Happy June 9th!

9 Jun , 2021

Happy 69 day! It’s the 9th of June, and it’s a special date for everyone’s (or maybe just anyone sex-positive’s) favorite number! While today isn’t an official holiday, if you have a sexual partner, if you aren’t already, try to spice things up with the 69 position! Allow yourselves to simultaneously experience pleasure. May you and your partner enjoy it equally.

While the 69 is often believed to be a singular position, there are a number of ways that you can experience it:

Classic: Two people align themselves so that each person’s mouth is positioned near the other’s private parts. One lies on top with their knees straddling their partner’s head. They often perform oral sex on each other. The female partner is usually on the top.

Inverted: It’s pretty much the same as the Classic version, except the male partner is typically on the top.

Swinging: If you’re adventurous enough, and have a sex swing, you can do this already saucy position while suspended in midair!

Sideways: For this version, both partners lay on their sides. This is a little bit easier if you both want to relax a bit.

Standing: For those more athletic people, you can enjoy the 69 while both standing. Just make sure your partner can handle holding you (or you can hold your partner) for an unspecified amount of time!

MRW my OC post gets exactly 69 upvotes - GIF on Imgur

Looking for tips on how to make the experience better? We’ve got you covered! Here are some ways you can enjoy your 69 Day…or ways you can enjoy the 69 year-round.

  1. Get comfy and protect your neck. For the partner on the bottom, make sure you have a pillow and get in a comfortable position!
  2. Don’t forget to use your hands too!
  3. Take turns pleasuring each other. Please, don’t be selfish and allow one partner to do all the work.
  4. If it’s too uncomfortable, lie on your side. As mentioned above, this will make the experience easier for both partners.
  5. Have fun and don’t take sex too seriously! The best part of sex is just having fun with your partner. When you both can laugh together, it will alleviate the awkwardness that comes with sharing each other’s bodies.

Happy sexual adventures!

Learn to Embrace Your Kinky Side on International Fetish Day

15 Jan , 2021

According to the Cambridge Dictionary, the definition of “fetish” is as follows:

On the third Friday of every January is the celebration of International Fetish Day. A holiday born out of the United Kingdom in 2008 (as stance against the criminalization of possession of “extreme pornography”), the day was created to not only celebrate the fetish community, but to bring awareness to it as well. Additionally, it is a day for people to learn to embrace and openly share their kinkiness. In a time where proudly displaying one’s sexuality is still stigmatized and openly criminalized (especially in the Trump era and during Covid), International Fetish Day is just one of a number of sex-positive holidays aimed to bring pleasure to the forefront of human consciousness.

One way to celebrate International Fetish Day is to wear purple. “Perverts Wear Purple” is an aspect of this special day, as it differentiates members of the fetish community from “vanilla” folks. Depending on your feelings towards the word “pervert,” for some it is a reclamation of an often dirty term. Since purple is a color heavily used in BDSM circles, wearing purple is a quiet, yet powerful stance that shows that you’re not ashamed to be who you are, and that you like what you like.

Too often in mainstream society, individuals are kink-shamed and made to stifle their innermost longings. In my opinion, if you aren’t (nonconsensually) harming yourself or others, there’s nothing to be afraid of. If we could all be our true selves without the burden of social stigma, the world would be a much happier place.

Lee uploads maggie gyllenhaal GIF - Find on GIFER

Whether you’re new or seasoned in the kink world, whether you have a partner or not, use this day to embrace yourself. There are plenty of virtual meetups, seminars, and more on sites such as Fetlife, or you can make some time for play (respsonsibly) with a partner. Or if you don’t have a partner, you can still engage in a little self-love, and shower yourself with a new bondage outfit perhaps…

In the words of the fabulous Dr. Frankenfurter from The Rocky Horror Picture Show:

“Don’t dream it, be it.”

What’s your fetish?

How to Make the Most of “Single Sunday,” the Busiest Day of the Year for Dating Apps

2 Jan , 2021

How did you spend your New Year’s Eve? Did you spend it with friends and family, and possibly a very special someone? Did you enjoy a kiss with your significant other as the clock struck midnight? Or are you one of the many who aren’t “booed up” during this holiday season? Are you currently looking for love as part of your New Year’s Resolutions? This Sunday may be a great day to start fresh with your love life. Despite the fact that we’re still in the midst of quarantine, online dating has opened up a world of possibilities if you’re looking to meet a special someone. If you’re open, there’s no geographical constraints and no limits to what you can find! No matter what you believe, there’s always someone out that has the same interests, passions, and dreams as you!

There’s are plenty of holidays that celebrate couples, but what about those of us that aren’t in relationships? The first Sunday after New Year’s, unofficially dubbed “Dating Sunday” or “Singles Sunday” is the busiest day of the year for dating sites. More than any other time, it’s the perfect opportunity to search for a match. Following the end of Cuffing Season, and preceding Valentine’s Day, Dating Sunday is the first “holiday” of the year for singles on the prowl.

With the loneliness and isolation caused by the Coronavirus, perhaps we may see an even bigger surge of activity on dating apps. Since many of us are still confined to our homes, we have to put in a bit more leg work to find meaningful and lasting connections.

According to multiple reports, there’s a dramatic increase in site signups, messages sent, and matches made. In 2020, Match.com predicted a 65% increase in registrations, while other sites such as Tinder made 44 million matches in 2017. So, if you’re looking for your perfect match, why not take advantage now!

But first, here are some ways to make the most of the busiest online dating day of the year:

  1. Be authentic: In the simplest of terms, be yourself. You’re more likely to attract a more worthwhile partner when you aren’t afraid to show off who you really are. No matter how niche your interests, or no matter how weird you think you are, there’s bound to be someone who will appreciate you.
  2. Don’t be afraid to be upfront about what you’re looking for: Be honest about what you’re looking for in a relationship. Are you looking for something more short-term, or long-term? What are your dealbreakers? What are some must-have qualities? Do you live a certain lifestyle, and want a partner who does the same? Let it be known early on. The great thing about online dating is that you can browse profiles and weed people out pretty quickly.
  3. Try multiple sites: It’s true that some sites are better than others. However, in order to increase your chances of meeting someone, why not signup for multiple apps? There’s sites such as Tinder, Match, Plenty of Fish, OkCupid, Bumble, Coffee Meets Bagle, Hinge, and more. Looking for something a bit more specific? There’s also interest and lifestyle-driven apps out there as well, including Bonoboville, which allows free personals in order to find your prime mate (pun intended).
  4. Take the time to fill out your profile (and read other people’s profiles): Want to improve your matches? Take the time to fill out your dating profile. While there are sites like Tinder that don’t allow for a lot of descriptions, plenty of other sites allow you to extensively fill out your interests and even answer fun questions that will really give an insight into your personality. It’s easy to get swept up in looks, but do pay attention to what they say. If you don’t pay attention, you might miss something important and waste both your time and the other person’s.
  5. Be optimistic! While online dating can be challenging at times, a bit of patience and a lot of optimism will take you a long way. Being positive about the process will make it easier to attract a potential partner. If something doesn’t work out, there are plenty of people out there!

Happy New Year and happy dating!

What Can Phone Sex Operators Tell Us About Men & Masculinity?

19 Dec , 2020

This is a great article that attempts to demystify the reason so many men call for phone sex.

“My work with men has led me to believe that while men’s pain is not the same as being marginalized or oppressed, it is in fact profound. In my experience, men seek out the attention of sex workers because they feel unseen and unheard. Moreover, the only needs that they feel comfortable seeking to meet are their sexual ones.”

THE FUCK-IT LIST: 30 Sexy Things to Do During Social Distancing

20 Nov , 2020

With Coronavirus cases skyrocketing during the winter season, it’s become apparent that social-distancing, or more specifically, physical-distancing isn’t going away anytime soon. Since most gatherings are prohibited, and most of us are confined to our homes, how are we supposed to remain sex-positive during a time where sex has become akin to a forbidden act? Whether you’re in a relationship or single, there are ways you can remain sexually active and sex-positive without risking your health. In fact, without the pressure to engage in physical intimacy, this forces us to get a bit more creative in our approaches to sexuality.

Here are some ways you can enjoy sex during a time of social (or physical) distancing:

  • Practice self-love with new toys and positions.
  • Enjoy a live erotic reading or give one! Need ideas, Hysterical Literature is a great place to start.
  • Watch an erotic film with a group, or with a special partner.
  • Participate in erotic hypnotism, whether it be on your own or with a partner.
  • Do an at-home boudoir shoot, or your own or with a partner.
  • Participate in a live nude drawing session.”Draw me like one of your French girls!”
  • Mutual masturbation.
  • Send romantic/sexy snail mail. Even better if you send gifts.
  • Take a kinky class and educate yourself about something new.
  • Buy some new naughty lingerie for yourself…or for your partner.
  • Shoot a sex video at home.
  • Try your hand at writing erotica. If you want to, share it online or with loved ones.
  • Virtual strip poker (or any other game of your choice).
  • Enjoy some old-fashioned phone sex (without video chat). You can enjoy it with a partner or with a service like the Dr. Susan Block Institute.
  • Or you can do a video chat. Keep things interesting by dressing up and treating it like a special occasion.
  • Enjoy a “Secret Satan!” gift exchange with friends. A heathen’s version of Secret Santa, exchange anything kinky, sexy, frivolous, etc. Mail your gifts to each other and have a Zoom meetup to share.
  • Get elaborate with sexting.
  • Support a sex worker on OnlyFans or any other subscription site!
  • Get in touch with your inner exhibitionist and share adult content online.
  • Attend a sexy dance party (virtually).
  • Send some artsy nudes to a special someone.
  • Join a fetish website like FetLife.
  • Attend a virtual orgy.
  • Create a sexual trivia game and enjoy with loved ones and friends.
  • If you have a partner, schedule a responsible date night at home or outdoors to spice things up.
  • REALLY get into role play with your partner(s). Live your fantasy!
  • Do a naughty peep show in the window while your partner is outside watching.
  • Get into sploshing- playing with your food in a sexual way.
  • Or if you’re not into playing with your food, cooking together is always hot, especially if you include champagne and other aphrodisiacs in the mix.
  • Try something athletic like naked yoga (at home).

Have any other suggestions? Feel free to comment!

Revisiting India’s Banned Sex-Positive Film: Mira Nair’s ‘Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love’ (1996)

16 Nov , 2020

India has a tumultuous relationship with the film industry and its display of blatant sexuality on screen. It’s the largest film industry in the world due to the number of films it produces each year. However, over the course of its history, the Central Board of Film Certification (India’s film censorship body) has banned some of the most innovative, thought-provoking, and provocative films. Anything that displays what constitutes as vulgar, sexually explicit or a challenge to authority is shielded from the Indian public. For the country that created the Kama Sutra, India has pretty Puritanical beliefs in regard to the consumption of art.

One of the films that were banned by the Indian censorship board was Mira Nair’s aptly named Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love. Drawn from the name of the ancient texts, the film is one that displays Kama Sutra more as a philosophy, and as a means to be in control of one’s sexuality. With the female gaze behind the camera, the film also shows a woman who decides to take control of her own destiny.

Despite its ill reception in its home country, Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love was critically praised. To this day, a genuine curiosity still surrounds the film. Even though the trailer in question no longer exists, it was the third most-watched on Youtube in 2018. Behind Avenger’s Infinity War, and the Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and ranking above Fifty Shades of Grey, that is no small feat. What does that say about the desire for the film? Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love remains banned in India to this day. Anything that’s provocative enough to be banned, becomes all the more enticing to those it is forbidden.

The opening of Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love was inspired by a story called “Utran” by Wajida Tabassum. The title refers to the term “cast-offs” or “hand-me-downs.” In 16th century India, two friends from different castes grow apart once they reach the age of marriage. Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love is indeed about love, but its plot is fueled by jealousy and female rage.

Tara (Sarita Choudhury) is from the upper caste, a princess. Maya (Indira Varma) is her lovely servant. As the film begins, Tara goes to a class where she learns about Kama Sutra (translated as “love lessons”). Maya watches from above, eager to join the other girls and learn what they learn. Early on in her life, Maya sits on the sidelines, watching as Tara enjoys the spoils of life. From the lower caste, Maya is gifted with Tara’s cast-offs, especially her hand-me-down clothes. Despite her modest upbringing, Maya is more alluring and naturally gifted in the art of attraction. Tara notices this, especially when her husband-to-be, Prince Raj Singh (Naveen Andrews) is immediately smitten with Maya.

After Tara mistreats Maya, Maya decides to seduce the prince on his wedding night. Bringing the concept of leftovers full circle, Maya finally passes something used on to Tara. After her encounter is discovered, Maya is shamed out of the palace, and forced to live elsewhere. While away, Maya finds love with sculptor Jai (Ramon Tikaram), and learns the art of Kama Sutra, as she had always wanted to.

In mainstream media, particularly in the United States, Kama Sutra has been largely colonized. It’s promoted mainly as a series of wild sex positions, watered down by white people to sell self-help books, yet its true meaning has been lost over time. Kama Sutra: A Love Story is described as an erotic film, but its eroticism lies in the interactions with the characters and the mindset that makes one attractive. It teaches audiences that “the art of love is much more than the act itself.”

To some, Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love‘s appeal may be its overt sexuality, but there’s more to it than that. Maya is a woman with her own agency and refuses to bend to the path laid out for her. From the beginning she states,

“I am no one’s slave!” and that she wants to make her own destiny.

Maya could have easily settled and married Tara’s brother Prince “Biki” (Khalid Tyabji), but she chose to go her own way. Unwilling to be second to Tara, Maya becomes superior in almost every way. Despite the animosity between the two women, Maya and Tara reconcile, and Maya teaches her old friend what she knows. A powerful moment is when the two women stand before a mirror, Maya encouraging Tara to admire herself. With some coaching, Tara finally gains the strength to stand up to her husband.

Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love, more than a love story, is a tale of strength. Why does a story of women overcoming need to be banned? If it encourages other women to do the same, then perhaps that’s where the fear lies. It’s not so much paying homage to an ancient Indian text as it is inspiring women to make their own choices.

MUST READ From Wear Your Voice: For Some Survivors, Phone Sex Can Be a Path To Healing

14 Oct , 2020

11 Erotic Artists We Love: October Edition

13 Oct , 2020

The great thing about social media is that it has allowed for a host of artists to share their work in ways they previously weren’t allowed to before. Sites such as Twitter and Instagram have allowed for a thriving community that elevates erotic artwork and allows for artists to showcase the best of what they have to offer. Particularly of interest, erotic art has seen a surge over the past decade, with thousands of artists emerging to share their appreciation of sex and the human body. Here at Bonoboville, we also have an appreciation of sex and the human body and have built up a gallery of erotic art over the years. For the month of October, we’ve put together a list of some pretty talented and exciting artists to support not only on social media, but with your dollars. See our first list below:

What About Dating in the Era of Social Distancing?

12 Oct , 2020

Over the course of history, there have been landmark events that reinvented our approach to sex such as the mass production of the car, World War II (with the fifties and the rise of the nuclear family following suit), the invention of birth control, and even pandemics of past generations.

This wouldn’t be the first time that the United States has dealt with a monstrous pandemic. The Spanish Flu of 1918 also altered dating and intimacy, where any forms of sexual contact (especially kissing) were regarded as deadly and taboo. As social distancing proves itself to be the new normal, once again we’ll have to adapt.

While humans are attached to technology, at the same time we still crave face-to-face interactions. How do we build relationships and experience pleasure with other humans without the ease of social events? Over the past several months, it seems as if we’ve regressed to Regency-era antics akin to Pride and Prejudice, with wistful stares across the room, and where merely brushing fingers is like tasting the Forbidden Fruit. In the midst of a transitional period in history, how are those of us stuck in limbo going to make do?

With a culture driven by technology, finding love (or temporary satisfaction) is a double-edged sword. On one hand, the internet has unveiled a host of possibilities. Free of geographical constraints, and connecting bridges between unique interests, souls may find each other online that may have without the help of the internet. Over the past two decades, there have been millions of platonic, romantic, and purely sexual bonds that have formed with the aid of cyberspace. On the other hand, social media has increased the amount of lazy and surface-level interactions. Due to the abundance of readily available information, and the lack of effort needed to attain it, modern sex and dating have become even more of a conundrum.

To top it off, the hookup culture of today combined with hustle mentality and our increasingly nomadic nature has placed short-lived, self-serving ecstasy above meaningful relationships founded on mutual interests and taking the time to “get to know each other.” Sure the latter still happens, but it has become increasingly difficult to find.

Over the past several months, I’ve pondered what social distancing means for the future of those of us that are still very single. If you’re looking for love or lust, this period proves to be a massive hurdle to overcome. For the time being, gone are the days of meeting a hottie at a bar or a fated run-in in a coffee shop. Gone are the days of which you’d swipe right and link up for a steamy rendezvous. If you don’t have a thriving inner circle, it may be a task to meet new people who share your beliefs and interests.

So now what?

At this time, it’s important to be optimistic. If you’re still looking to try your hand at dating, perhaps it’s time to rejoin those dating apps you’ve sworn off. It may take a bit of mining and right-swiping, but there’s still a possibility that there’s someone just like you looking for you too. Also, in the virtual world, there are tons of classes, workshops, and gatherings to meet people. If you can find a regular gathering that suits your interests, you can add more interesting people to your circle. There’s a little more effort involved to meet like-minded souls these days, but it’s still possible. During the era of social distancing, this means that most individuals will be more selective of potential partners, and will more than likely take more time to get to know one another, or in some cases, there will be less “game-playing.” If someone isn’t interested, they simply won’t move forward.

On the other hand, quarantine is an excellent time for self-discovery and self-love. If you’re not used to being alone, this is a great time for rest and relaxation. It’s also a great time to develop and learn outside of the influence of others. While isolation can be harrowing, it forces some introspection. With everything moving at a slower pace, there’s more time to figure out who you are, where you are going, and what you want your current life to look like. Whenever you’re ready to put yourself out there again, you’ll be a better person, and have a better knowledge of what you’d like out of a relationship.

So what direction are you heading towards?

STAY TUNED FOR PART II of this article with suggestions on sexy activities during quarantine!

Neurodiversity in Porn: A Panel By XBIZ

28 Sep , 2020

During social distancing, renowned website XBIZ has been at the forefront of reporting on the adult entertainment industry and creating informative panels for audiences. In a time where all forms of entertainment are evolving, it’s important to shed light on developments and the emerging communities. When it comes to sex work, it’s imperative to showcase unique points of view, because we’re all sexual beings after all.

Recently, XBIZ launched a panel entitled “Neurodiversity in Porn,” which featured writer Amberly Rothfield as moderator, and entertainers Hektek Desires, Daisy Ducati, Cleo Clementine, and Febby Twigs. Each panelist discussed working in the field with variations of clinical depression, ADHD, PTSD, anxiety, and more.

This wonderful panel aims to destigmatize “idiosyncracies to the mind and how we react to things.”

Article Tie-In: Pleasure, Mortality, Revolution, and the ‘Decameron’

21 Sep , 2020

Happy Sunday Sinners! Last night’s throwback episode of the Dr. Susan Block Show was a great discussion about sex, Christianity, and mortality. I’ve specialized in writing about the three subjects in regards to film and pop culture in general, so I was very excited to listen to the show and ponder my own experiences as a former bible study leader, and member of the church.

One of my pieces (which happened to be one of my sample submissions for editor/writer at Bonoboville) explores pleasure, mortality, revolution, and the “Decameron.” The “Decameron” is a thirteenth-century Italian masterwork that captures resilience, the power of storytelling, the hypocrisy of Christianity, and sex during the Plague. Set during a tumultuous period in history, the “Decameron” celebrates life and pleasure in all its forms in a time where death and misery were abundant.

The piece focuses on the many film adaptations of the book, and how they tie into the different movements in history, particularly the change in western attitudes towards sex in the early seventies. From 1971 to approximately 1975, there are over 40 film adaptations, entitled Decamerotici (Some poster art is linked below). There are other modern reincarnations such as Virgin Territory and The Little Hours

Entering Virgin Territory Pleasure Mortality Revolution and the Decameron - Google Docs

Overall, if you enjoy film, history, sex, and religion, you might enjoy this piece.

Before leaving, here is a fun list of euphemisms for sex and genitalia from the 13th century:

“The evil hole never takes a holiday.”

“The kind of horn men do their butting with.”

“One cock is good enough for ten hens”

“I’m going to work your garden for you better than it’s ever been worked before.”

“Round breasts, as firm and delicate as if they had been made of ivory.”

Full post here: ENTERING VIRGIN TERRITORY

The piece was originally posted in the Patreon section of a website that is no longer live. The link is a repost.

Following Netflix’s Marketing Misfire, ‘Cuties’ Director Maïmouna Doucouré Defends Her Film

17 Sep , 2020

Earlier this year, Maïmouna Doucouré’s film Cuties debuted at the Sundance film festival to overall critical acclaim. A coming-of-age tale that serves as a cautionary tale of the sexualization of young girls (Not unlike 2003’s Thirteen), most viewers understood Doucouré’s intentions. Following its debut and other international festivals, the film was acquired by Netflix for US distribution. However, months later, Netflix unveiled a poster that completely painted Cuties in a negative light. Not unlike the imagery displayed in shows such as Dance Moms or Toddler in Tiaras, there was an immediate backlash to the film, many viewers accusing Cuties of promoting pedophilia (without even seeing the movie first).

Despite the fact that Netflix removed it’s original marketing materials, the damage has already been done. Doucouré has received death threats, as well as many supporters and film critics (myself included). Following the headlines and the massive debate surrounding Cuties, Maïmouna Doucouré stands behind her work. Based on real-life experiences from her own youth, Cuties isn’t an unusual film with unusual circumstances. Was there this level of outrage outside the United States? Not at all. Perhaps it’s because of America’s Puritanical outlook on sexuality that sparked this mess.

In our media-driven society, children are being exposed to more at an earlier age. Cuties isn’t an endorsement of young sexuality but simply points out that it’s a very real issue that occurs all over the world. She was simply bold enough to go where so few directors go.

MUST READ: Emily Ratajkoswki’s “BUYING MYSELF BACK”

15 Sep , 2020

Over the past couple of years, Emily Ratajkowski has become a household name. Known primarily for her role in Robin Thicke’s ‘Blurred Lines’ video, Gone Girl, and laughably as Gibby’s cute girlfriend in iCarly, Ratajkowski has won the hearts of many. Having gained notoriety for her looks, Ratajkowski is the envy and desire of many.

Ratajkowski has always been vocal about social justice. Using her platform, the model-actress encourages her followers to vote, and speak out against sexual assault. In her in-depth essay for The Cut, Ratajkowski painfully details the fight for her own image. With many of her photos publicly available, Ratajkowski has seen “artists” profit off of her image, incorporating her photos in their “art.” Sadly, she often hasn’t seen the profits from these artists, nor has she gained justice for their misuse.

In her article, she details her experiences with exploitation, sexual assault, and her ongoing battle with photographer Jonathan Leder. Emily Ratajkowski’s story is one that highlights how men declare ownership over women’s bodies, and how it can be hard to be taken seriously if you’re deemed as “too sexy.”

According to INSIDER: “Pope Francis Says The Pleasures of Food and Sex Are ‘Simply Divine'”

11 Sep , 2020

There have been a lot of popes in Italy’s history, but Pope Francis may be one of the coolest. In a book of interviews with writer Carlo Petrini, he describes the pleasures of food and sex as “simply divine.” While most religious figures shy away from matters involving any form of pleasure, Pope Francis encourages it. That’s important because experiencing pleasure in all forms is a part of what makes life worth living for. The new book is entitled “Terra Futura.” It recently published on Wednesday of this week.

Cosmopolitan Reports on What Dating Looked Like During the 1918 Spanish Flu

5 Sep , 2020

Due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, dating has become increasingly more difficult. Social distancing and the lack of physical touch can make any growing relationship struggle, and cause a fair share of difficulties for anyone looking to put themselves out there. However, this isn’t the first time that the United States has endured a pandemic. Back in 1918, the Spanish Flu ravaged the country, causing 676,000 fatalities in the states alone (the world total is reported to be an estimated 50 million). Without modern technology such as the internet, how did people in the Interwar period attempt to date? Cosmopolitan highlights the ways in which people connected during the Spanish Flu:

Growth of Sex Tech Market Speeding Up and Will Surpass $123B By 2026

3 Sep , 2020

The sex tech industry was already booming, but the Coronavirus has brought forth a surge due to social and physical distancing. According to Lovense’s CEO Dan Liu, the lockdown has caused the sexual wellness market to accelerate by 13.4%. By 2026, the industry is predicted to be worth $122.96 billion. With our rapidly changing society, the sex tech industry needs to keep up since individuals will be seeking more innovative ways to enjoy sex without the physical touch of another human being. The Future of Sex reported this on their website in-depth: https://futureofsex.net/virtual-sex-entertainment/growth-of-sex-tech-market-speeding-up-and-will-surpass-123b-by-2026-says-lovense-ceo/

Now would be the perfect time for VR research, as well as other innovations. We’re looking forward to the creations that will emerge in the next couple of years.

Actress Bella Thorne Has Altered the Entire OnlyFans Payment Model

30 Aug , 2020

Since its inception, OnlyFans has provided a safe space for sex workers to earn a stable income. Due to its lucrative subscription model, and lack of caps on a la carte products such as videos and photos, sex workers have been able to profit in a way they haven’t on other platforms. In a time where sex workers’ livelihoods are constantly threatened, and other sites have banned any overt displays of sexuality, OnlyFans has provided financial freedom for hundreds of thousands of users. Unfortunately, like platforms such as Youtube, Tik Tok, and more, celebrities are seeing additional ways to make income. One of those celebrities, Bella Thorne did just that.

Claiming to be doing research for a Sean Baker (Director of Tangerine and The Florida Project) documentary project, Thorne joined the service, raking in over $1 million in under 24 hours. However, the issue doesn’t necessarily lie in Thorne’s record-breaking sales, it lies in something a bit more complex.

Additionally, here is an article from Rolling Stone that sums up the story well: https://www.rollingstone.com/culture/culture-news/bella-thorne-onlyfans-twitter-pricing-changes-1051389/.

Top OnlyFans user Erika Hoedewald explains in detail how the payment model works at the service, and what Bella Thorne did to jeopardize the livelihoods of hundreds of thousands of sex workers:

30 Aug , 2020

Prior to Covid-19, Burning Man was the pinnacle of ethical hedonism and a place where individuals from all over could gather to celebrate the intersection between music, fashion, art, technology, and sex. For one week, organizers by the name of Raspberry Dream Labs created CYBER DREAMS: “a post-apocalyptic sex-positive future packed with musicians, erotic performers, social get-togethers, interactive entertainments, and a whole lot more.”

#GoBonobos for “The Bonobo Way” by Dr. Susan Block

18 Nov , 2019

Celebrating five years of love, sex and conservation, The Bonobo Way: The Evolution of Peace Through Pleasure is the much needed breath of fresh air in a world set ablaze by the wildfires of misogyny, femicide, and war. Written by international sex expert, and Yale graduate, Dr. Susan Block, her book is a manifesto to female empowerment and inclusivity that is inspired by our other great ape cousins, the bonobos—also known as Pan Paniscus. According to Dr. Block, these endangered primates have a lot to teach humanity and what they can teach could save your sex life, if not the world.

At the book’s core, it is a call to action, a seductive moan from a lover’s ear to put down the toys of war, and instead, learn the ways of pleasure. From the jungle to the bedroom, this book is an arousing spotlight on sexuality as we know it and offers hope for the hapless, even if that hapless person is you. Block’s narrative is an (s)exploration into human nature that is complete with orgasmic anecdotes, tales of lust, love, trust, relationships goals, power exchanges and much more.

What is most appealing about this book is the inclusiveness of Dr. Block’s narratives, she provides practical relationship tools—for the monogamous, the bi-curious, the polyamorous, as well as full-fledged swingers and other non-monogamists—with a tone that is uplifting, affirming, and most of all, relatable. The steps she lays out are useful for solo and partnered relationships, covering matters of intimacy, tips for role-play, BDSM as well as sexual etiquette. The information is laid out as a twelve step guide dubbed, “How to Release Your Inner Bonobo,” which she discussed as the keynote speaker of the Ecosexuality Symposium at University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez, and as a guest of Honor at Domcon Los Angeles. The step-work includes strategies for awakening the dormant inner bonobo that is in each of us.

With anecdotes from Dr. Block’s journal, references to world news, politics, porn, ecological conservation and numerous cultures, reading each step pleasurable. Moreover, her personality squirts through the ink with each flip of the page. Throughout the book, Block’s narratives bring the concept of “peace through pleasure” to life as she contrasts the damaging effects of chimpish behavior to the restorative power of bonboesque sisterhood.

The overarching appeal of The Bonobo Way is that the message intersects with the values of ecological advocates, politicians, animal rights activists, military veterans, porn stars, sex therapists, radio hosts, feminists, dommes, as well as people across the LGBTQIA+ spectrum. On a textual level, the book is an exploration in eco-feminism, with Dr. Block’s own environment of expertise highlighted: Her Bonoboville Speakeasy in Downtown Los Angeles, complete with a broadcast bed, lights, cameras, and plenty of action—you may recognize it from LA Weekly’s coverage of Eros Day X + Orgy for Obama

Block’s bond to the bonobos is never far from the surface of the text; from a first introduction to the species while watching a PBS special in bed with her husband Max, to an inter-species meeting with Lana at the San Diego Zoo in Southern California (that’s them on the cover of the book!), Dr. Block’s advocacy to preserve the endangered bonobos who “empower the female” and “never kill each other” is reinforced as she cites their capacity for empathy, compassion, and sexual prowess. She reminds the reader that due to environmental encroachment, through poaching and war, this emotionally intelligent (EQ) species could face extinction. “Save the bonobos, Save the world” says she write in her 12th step.

As a piece of literature, The Bonobo Way is a multifaceted exploration into ecological advocacy and sexual self-help. The preservation of the bonobos and conservation of their bioregion is coupled with a call to action to repair our relationship with our “over-farmed and abused mother earth” (83). Block’s research and observations are comparable to that of Christopher Ryan Ph.D (Sex At Dawn / Tangentially Speaking) and Vanessa Woods (Bonobo Handshake), while the sexual anecdotes peppered throughout the text stimulate the senses without over-spicing the narrative for the reader. The fusion of both the ecological and the sexual is just one more reason why The Bonobo Way is an outstanding book.

Look, the book is not just an addition to your library or nightstand, it is an investment into your sex life. At 240 pages it is available in print and eBook– the latter includes full color photos. Other features of the book are Dr. Block’s notes, which vary from “hat tips” to writers and rock stars, to supplemental information on clinical and “scene” terms, as well as vital socio-historical references, all of which help the reader to better understand why humanity is in need of a new great ape paradigm. Lastly, for those inspired to take action, the appendix of The Bonobo Way provides a list of sites and organizations that are dedicated to helping the bonobos, and a list of zoos, reserves, sanctuaries where bonobos can be seen. #GoBonobos!

The Saga of Finger Magazine Max Lobkowicz

8 Feb , 2016

“The Saga of Finger Magazine

By David Steinberg

Once upon a time, and not so long ago, there was that peculiar period of cultural history we now refer to, somewhat inaccurately, as The Sixties. It was a time that changed the American sexual landscape forever, no matter how much people now laugh at bell-bottoms. Political activism shattered reverence for the American Way of Life as tens of millions of people protested the illegal, immoral war in Vietnam…” READ MORE

Instead of Valentine’s Day, Celebrate Lupercalia. | Dr. Susan Block via Elephant Journal

14 Feb , 2017

spanking-womenInstead of Valentine’s Day, Celebrate Lupercalia By Dr. Susan Block via Elephant Journal
Intro: “Saint Valentine” was a farce…it all began with a she-wolf.

In a world of fake news and “alternative facts,” it’s no surprise that we’ve been sold a Valentine’s Day fallacy, too.

The high holiday of love is a capitalist’s fairy tale, concocted by Hallmark’s 19th century forebearers to increase greeting card
sales.

It stars Saint Valentine, a Christian martyr who was arrested and condemned to death for unlawfully marrying young couples in pagan Rome. While imprisoned, Valentine healed his jailer’s blind daughter, who fell in love with the chaste priest. Before being executed on February 14th, he left the girl a farewell note (which she could now see, thanks to his saintly ophthalmology skills), signed, “Your Valentine.”

5 Ways Yoga Improves Your Love Life | By Jennifer D’Angelo Friedman

27 Feb , 2017

yoga-journal-logoEveryone benefits from a little more lovin’ in their lives. Here’s how yoga can help you have a better sex life.

1. Yoga gets you more in touch with your body.

Yoga helps you become more acquainted with your body and what makes you tick— and the more intimacy you have with yourself, the better intimacy you can have with someone else, says NYC-based yoga teacher Kristin McGee, who works with celebs like Tina Fey, Bethenny Frankel, and LeAnn Rimes Cibrian. “The more aware you are of sensations and feelings, the more you feel and experience everything going on during intercourse,” she says. Striking a pose can also boost sexual confidence. “Yoga makes you more intimate with all the parts of your body and you cherish your body more, so you don’t have a lot of the insecurities that can hold women back in the bedroom,” McGee explains.

How Much Would You Pay for A Dress? $10? $100? What about $100K?

19 Feb , 2018

The bidding war is on and the item on the auction block is a “sparkly gold dress” worn by none other than adult film star, Stormy Daniels. While the actress has garnered mainstream attention from the media, the dress has captured the attention of Sin City’s Erotic Heritage Museum. The museum’s director, Dr. Victoria Hartmann, has stated that the museum is willing to pay $100,000 to obtain her gold dress.

Why so much for a dress? Well, according to Stormy, it was the gold dress she wore during her 2006 rendezvous with Mr. Donald J. “Grab ’em by the pussy” Trump. However, before the museum will pay for the dress, a forensic DNA test will need to be conducted to prove its legitimacy.

While some sex workers sell old nylons, panties, and shoes, Stormy’s dress may create a new market for those that enjoy sex with their politics. Or is that politics with their sex?

Block Books Features: Witches, Sluts, Feminists: Conjuring the Sex Positive by Kristen J. Sollee

24 Oct , 2017

Block Books Features:

Witches, Sluts, Feminists: Conjuring the Sex Positive by Kristen J. Sollee

“Witch, Slut, Feminist: these contested identities are informing millennial women as they counter a tortuous history of misogyny with empowerment. This innovative primer highlights sexual liberation as it traces the lineage of “witch feminism” through art, film, music, fashion, literature, technology, religion, pop culture, and politics. Juxtaposing scholarly research on the demonization of women and female sexuality that has continued since the witch hunts of the early modern era with pop occulture analyses and interviews with activists, artists, scholars, and practitioners of witchcraft, this book addresses and illuminates contemporary conversations about reproductive rights, sexual pleasure, queer identity, pornography, sex work, and more. Author Kristen J. Sollee elucidates the ways in which women have been persecuted for their perceived connection with witchcraft, and how they have fought back, harnessing the legacy of the witch for revolutionary means.”

Block Book Features: Whipping Girl: A Transsexual Woman on Sexism and the Scapegoating of Femininity

20 Nov , 2017

Block Book Features:

Whipping Girl: A Transsexual Woman on Sexism and the Scapegoating of Femininity

“In the updated second edition of Whipping Girl, Julia Serano, a transsexual woman whose supremely intelligent writing reflects her diverse background as a lesbian transgender activist and professional biologist, shares her powerful experiences and observations—both pre- and post-transition—to reveal the ways in which fear, suspicion, and dismissiveness toward femininity shape our societal attitudes toward trans women, as well as gender and sexuality as a whole.

Serano’s well-honed arguments stem from her ability to bridge the gap between the often-disparate biological and social perspectives on gender. In this provocative manifesto, she exposes how deep-rooted the cultural belief is that femininity is frivolous, weak, and passive, and how this “feminine” weakness exists only to attract and appease male desire.

In addition to debunking popular misconceptions about transsexuality, Serano makes the case that today’s feminists and transgender activists must work to embrace and empower femininity—in all of its wondrous forms.”

cosmo-logoSex soundtracks are tricky. If the songs are too cheesy (see: Barry White), all involved parties will erupt into giggle fits, promptly ruining the mood. Block Book Features: Future Sex: A New Kind of Free Love

23 Aug , 2017

Block Book Features:

Future Sex: A New Kind of Free Love

A funny, fresh, and moving antidote to conventional attitudes about sex and the single woman

Emily Witt is single and in her thirties. Up until a few years ago, she still envisioned her sexual experience “eventually reaching a terminus, like a monorail gliding to a stop at Epcot Center.” Like many people, she imagined herself disembarking, finding herself face-to-face with another human being, “and there we would remain in our permanent station in life: the future.”

But, as many of us have found, things are more complicated than that. Love is rare and frequently unreciprocated. Sexual experience doesn’t necessarily lead to a future of traditional monogamy―and why should it? Have we given up too quickly on the alternatives?

In Future Sex, Witt explores Internet dating, Internet pornography, polyamory, and avant-garde sexual subcultures as sites of possibility. She observes these scenes from within, capturing them in all their strangeness, ridiculousness, and beauty. The result is an open-minded, honest account of the contemporary pursuit of connection and pleasure.”

Block Book Features: “When Paris Sizzled: The 1920s Paris of Hemingway, Chanel, Cocteau, Cole Porter, Josephine Baker, and Their Friends”

15 Aug , 2017

Block Book Features:

When Paris Sizzled: The 1920s Paris of Hemingway, Chanel, Cocteau, Cole Porter, Josephine Baker, and Their Friends

“When Paris Sizzled vividly portrays the City of Light during the fabulous 1920s, les Années folles, when Parisians emerged from the horrors of war to find that a new world greeted them—one that reverberated with the hard metallic clang of the assembly line, the roar of automobiles, and the beat of jazz. Mary McAuliffe traces a decade that saw seismic change on almost every front, from art and architecture to music, literature, fashion, entertainment, transportation, and, most notably, behavior.
The epicenter of all this creativity, as well as of the era’s good times, was Montparnasse, where impoverished artists and writers found colleagues and cafés, and tourists discovered the Paris of their dreams. Major figures on the Paris scene—such as Gertrude Stein, Jean Cocteau, Picasso, Stravinsky, Diaghilev, and Proust—continued to hold sway, while others now came to prominence—including Ernest Hemingway, Coco Chanel, Cole Porter, and Josephine Baker, as well as André Citroën, Le Corbusier, Man Ray, Sylvia Beach, James Joyce, and the irrepressible Kiki of Montparnasse.
Paris of the 1920s unquestionably sizzled. Yet rather than being a decade of unmitigated bliss, les Années folles also saw an undercurrent of despair as well as the rise of ruthless organizations of the extreme right, aimed at annihilating whatever threatened tradition and order—a struggle that would escalate in the years ahead. Through rich illustrations and evocative narrative, Mary McAuliffe brings this vibrant era to life.”

I’ve met people at clubs, bars, bookstores, professional networking events, concerts, and sports events, and had sex with them minutes later. I’ve had masters and Doms to serve sexually. It’s fair to say I’ve dabbled in almost everything. Until I met Mara, the one thing that was missing from my sex life was a true kindred spirit. I never had a female friend with whom I could, without hesitation, divulge all of my sexual exploits and in turn hear stories that matched mine. She and I met at a swinger party, and we’ve been friends ever since.”

A few years back I had a lingerie and accessories shop on Melrose Avenue in Hollywood, and one day a nice lady came in and asked if I would make some aprons for a photoshoot that she was doing with Paris Hilton’s new show on E! Television Network.

She wanted one or two that looked ‘retro,’ to be worn with ruffled dish washing gloves.

Casual Intimacy | Alison Barber via Sexpert

25 Feb , 2017

Here are a few things that make me happy:

  • Sunshine
  • Chocolate
  • Cold Beer
  • Good Sex
  • The Golden Girls

Because I enjoy happiness, I spend a lot of time outside. I eat a small piece of chocolate every night after my kids go to bed. There’s always beer in my fridge, and I own every episode of The Golden Girls.

Also because I enjoy happiness, I pursue good sex. Because the best sex involves another person, attaining it can be more complicated than a trip to the grocery store or stepping into my backyard.

Read-More-Button-149x49-Blue-Transparent-GIFFor me, the search for good sex extends beyond pleasurable genitalia, impressive stamina, and even a pretty face. Beauty and technique matter, but not as much as a person’s ability to inspire me or make me smile. Sex toys have come a long way–if a firm, sizable cock was all I required, I’d have run off with Alan long ago.

Alison-Barber-pic-thumbnailAlison Barber’s dream to become a writer was born when she won her first Young Author’s Contest. Her desire to masturbate professionally came later, and intensified after a switch from a focus on English to a major in Fashion Merchandising led to the opening of Taboo in 2002.

22 Sexy Songs That Give Female Masturbation The Love It Deserves by Caroline Bologna | Huffington Post

30 Apr , 2017

Caroline Bologna
via The Huffington Post

“In August, Hailee Steinfeld released her debut single and music video — an upbeat song called “Love Myself.” With lyrics like “know how to satisfy, keeping that tempo right without you” and “I’m gonna touch the pain away, I know how to scream my own name,” the song has earned praise from many female listeners who consider it a bonafide “masturbation anthem.”

Admittedly, the lyrics are ambiguous enough to assume that “Love Myself” is just a fun pop song about feeling empowered, but when Steinfeld appears in the music video wearing a leotard with the words “self service,” any doubts about the song’s “menage à moi” meaning are quelled.”

CASUAL SEX: EVERYONE IS DOING IT | Maria Konnikova via The New Yorker

28 Apr , 2017

the New Yorker
Zhana Vrangalova had hit a problem. On a blustery day in early spring, sitting in a small coffee shop near the campus of New York University, where she is an adjunct professor of psychology, she was unable to load onto her laptop the Web site that we had met to discuss. This was not a technical malfunction on her end; rather, the site had been blocked. Vrangalova, who is thirty-four, with a dynamic face framed by thick-rimmed glasses, has spent the past decade researching human sexuality, and, in particular, the kinds of sexual encounters that occur outside the norms of committed relationships. The Web site she started in 2014, casualsexproject.com, began as a small endeavor fuelled by personal referrals, but has since grown to approximately five thousand visitors a day, most of whom arrive at the site through organic Internet searches or referrals through articles and social media. To date, there have been some twenty-two hundred submissions, about evenly split between genders, each detailing the kinds of habits that, when spelled out, can occasionally alert Internet security filters. The Web site was designed to open up the discussion of one-night stands and other less-than-traditional sexual behaviors. What makes us engage in casual sex? Do we enjoy it? Does it benefit us in any way—or, perhaps, might it harm us? And who, exactly, is “us,” anyway?”Read more

The Bonobo Spring Revolution by Dr. Susan Block via Counterpunch

19 Mar , 2017

counterpunch-logo-squareSpring has sprung. The grass has riz. Do you know where the party is? Bonoboville!

Having declared 2015 the first “Year of the Bonobo” in the heady, hung-over days of early January, it’s time to spring forward into the quintessential season to go bonobos. Spring! The word itself leaps for joy, strips off sweaters and dives headlong into a spring fling, releasing that “inner bonobo” that’s been hibernating all winter long. Spring is mating time, dating time, time to catch bonobo spring fever, flirt and fly with the birds and bees through the flowers and trees, all buzzing, tweeting (yes, before Twitter, birds did the tweeting), blooming and dripping with lustful, ecosexual fecundity and revolutionary possibilities.Read-More-Button-149x49-Blue-Transparent-GIF

The Bonobo Way 12 Steps | Step 2: See the Bonobos.

28 Feb , 2017

Greetings Bonoboville,

As I continue my commitment to #GoBonobos in 2017, I’m revisiting The Bonobo Way 12 Steps from Dr. Block’s book, The Bonobo Way.  The second step in this different kind of 12 step program is “Be a Bonobo.” Dr. Block has this to say, “like neotantric yoga, Tai Chi or belly dancing, many of these steps to releasing your inner bonobo begin with releasing your breath.” Step two focuses on the physical, mental and emotional elements of bonoboness; it is an inclusive process that weaves together hypnosis, Bonobo Liberation Therapy, the erotic theater of the mind, and medibation. Still not sure how to “Be a Bonobo?” Here are Three Ways to Live Like a Bonobo.

Wishing you lots of #PeaceThroughPleasure,
Del Rey

BODY SHAME & Other Body Image Issues | Dr. Susan Block Institute for the Erotic Arts & Sciences

That includes feeling attracted to your partner’s body, if you have a partner. And it means feeling good about your own body, whether you have a partner or not.

Do you feel good about your body? Do you feel sexy in your skin? Or do you have “body image” issues that interfere with your ability to relax and enjoy yourself during sex?

In another tweet, the actor and comedian asked Elton John to play at the inauguration, under one condition. “Hey @eltonofficial: Agree to play the inauguration, but only to play ‘Goodbye Yellow Brick Road….’”   Read More.

HOW GAME THEORY IMPROVES DATING APPS | URI BRAM via 1843 MAGAZINE

13 Nov , 2016

game-theory“Traditional heterosexual dating apps have a fatal flaw: women get flooded with low-quality messages – at best vapid, at worst boorish – to the point where checking the inbox becomes an unappealing chore. Partly as a result, men see most of their messages ignored. Nobody is happy, but nobody can do anything about it. Well, none of the users, individually, can. But a new generation of dating apps impose limitations on daters that might liberate them….”  Read more

Capt’n Max Bday, Guy Fawkes Day, Bonobo Way Anniversary & Pre-Election Day Madness this Saturday, Remember, Remember, the 5th of November on DrSuzy.Tv!

3 Nov , 2016

This Saturday night, November 5th, The Dr. Susan Block Show will celebrate Capt’n Max‘s Birthday, Guy Fawkes Day, pre-Election Day madness and the two-year anniversary of The Bonobo Way: The Evolution of Peace through Pleasure. Married for over 24 years to international sexologist and Bonobo Way author Dr. Susan Block, Capt’n Max, a.k.a., Pr. Maximillian R. Lobkowicz, was the pioneering publisher of the first “reader-written” media such as the LA Star, Love, Hate, Finger, The Brentwood Bla Bla and Beverly Hills, the Magazine. Together, Max and Dr. Suzy founded Bonoboville, both a new social-media and a real “socialist/capitalist,” pro-sex community in Los Angeles, known for producing the first reality-based sexuality programs, convivial “Speakeasies,” bonoboësque gatherings, erotic art exhibitions, bacchanalian soirées, life-changing lectures, sex-educational seminars, and priceless moments of communal ecstasy, with a portion of all proceeds going to help save the highly endangered real bonobos in the wild.

Millennials are having less sex than any generation in 60 years. Here’s why it matters. | Melissa Batchelor Warnke via The Los Angeles Times

31 Oct , 2016

I spent most of yesterday morning mulling over Tara Bahrampour’s article in the Washington Post headlined “‘There isn’t really anything magical about it’: Why more millennials are avoiding sex.” The crux of her argument relates to a new study in the journal Archives of Sexual Behavior that finds younger millennials (i.e. those born in the 1990s) more than twice as likely to be sexually inactive in their early 20s as Gen Xers were. Compared with baby boomers, millennials look like nuns and priests.
